Founded in 2005, the SCPO (ABN 75 997 579 746) is an Incorporated Association and is recognised
as a not-for-profit organisation. SCPO is listed on the Australian Government Register of
Cultural Organizations and is endorsed as a deductible gift recipient.

Although a young orchestra, SCPO has unusual strengths in employing the finest professional musicians
who play with coherence and virtuosity. Many of these musicians have performed with the leading
Australian Orchestras as well as international and local Ensembles.

It is envisaged that SCPO activities will encourage these professionals to make their musical career in Australia.

Becoming a leader in the musical life of Melbourne and forging a strong relationship with the community
are among the aims of SCPO. The presentation of a full range of Chamber Orchestral to full Symphonic works
exemplifies a special relationship between performers and audience.
